Helensburgh AAC organise two events each year, the 10K road race, which is part of the 3 race Babcock Series and a trail race held in September each year. The Trident 10K, which was new in 2024, starts and finishes at Helensburgh Rugby Club on Rhu Road Higher.
Helensburgh 10K
Thursday 29th May 2025
The course starts and finishes at Hermitage Academy which provides extensive facilities for car parking, changing, toilets, showers, catering and prize presentations. The course is fast and largely flat and is a single circuit which takes in much of this delightful Victorian seaside resort. The roads are quiet and well marshalled. Every finisher will receive a unique commemorative medal and different item of Start Fitness merchandise at each event. Series entrants, for all three races still have until midnight on 31st January to take advantage of the ‘Early Bird Discount’ and they will also receive a specially designed Babcock 10k Series t-shirt. Many thanks to the small army of volunteers who turn up and give freely of their time to make the event such a success – ideally, 70 marshals are required around the route! Trident 10K Saturday 13th September 2025
Entries are now open for the 2025 Trident trail race. (Scottish Athletics Permit No 14046). To enter, visit Entry Central website Trident 10k – EntryCentral Standard entry £15 and £13 for SA/EA members.
The ‘Trident 10K’ is a trail race like no other. It’s a beautiful but very challenging run starting at Helensburgh Rugby Club before passing through Duchess Wood and onto the high forest tracks above the town. Great views on the way down back to the Rugby Club for some well earned refreshments!
